The Content of the Home Inspection
The six areas of concern are:
- SITE
- FOUNDATION
- ROUGH FRAMING/CARPENTRY
- HEATING
- PLUMBING
- ELECTRICAL
In addition, we inspect carefully:
- ROOF
- BRICK AND/OR SIDING
- GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS
- DOORS AND WINDOWS
We review and evaluate all of the “finish” trades:
- DRYWALL, PLASTER, PAINT
- FINISH MECHANICALS (PLUMBING, HEAT AND ELECTRICAL)
- TRIM CARPENTRY (INTERIOR DOORS, HARDWARE, ETC.)
- CABINETS AND COUNTERTOPS
- TILE WORK AND FINISHED FLOORS
For no additional charge, we look at the appendages and/or any typical “outbuildings”:
- GARAGES (ATTACHED OR DETACHED)
- STORAGE SHEDS
- PORCH ENCLOSURES, ETC.
